We have consulted in numerous engagements, primarily involving software engineering, licensing, and training. Our clients include leading technology companies (FAST [a Microsoft subsidiary], Hewlett-Packard, IBM, and Sun Microsystems), telecommunications companies (AT&T, IDT, and Verizon), financial services companies (Citicorp, Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, Prudential, Hartford, and John Hancock), government agencies, health care institutions, private equity firms, and several small and mid-sized businesses

Software Engineering

We have assisted numerous clients with software engineering projects, including design, development, project management, testing, quality assurance, and audits.

Our experience includes working with a wide range of software products, including products developed for the retail, distribution, financial services, manufacturing, professional services, and health care industries.

Some of the products that we have worked with are: SAP, Peoplesoft, J.D. Edwards, Great Plains, Oracle Financials, and i2; environments and tools including Java development environments, Microsoft Visual Studio/Visual Studio.NET, Rational, and open source; as well as several software source code management products including, for example, PerForce and CVS; and several different programming languages including, ABAP, COBOL, Fortran, Java, Javascript, Visual Basic, VBScript, C++, and others. Our database experience includes working with Oracle, MySQL, DB/2, SQL Server, and Microsoft Access.

The company has access to and maintains databases and related supporting information on the software industry, the telecommunications industry, and the Internet that can be used to benchmark performance as well as comparative statistics for other metrics.

Licensing

We have negotiated software license agreements, implementation agreements, and support/maintenance agreements on behalf of clients, saving them money and mitigating their risks associated with licensing and implementing software.

Performance Improvement

We have developed and taught courses related to software engineering for IT professionals and other managers in the public and private sectors. These courses have covered a range of topics, including software design, programming, database design, testing, quality assurance, project portfolio management, outsourcing, risk management, project management, scheduling and cost control, and estimating.

Additionally, we have participated in the development of curriculum for instructor-led courses and workshops as well as courses delivered via the Internet. This work has included doing the pilots for our clients and, then, developing and teaching “train the trainer” courses. Depending on the needs of the client, we can also satisfy logistical requirements, such as arranging for course sites, producing and delivering course materials, and providing instructors. Representative Engagements

We were retained by a private equity firm to assist management of one of their portfolio software companies in the health care industry in software design, development, and testing. Our work included evaluating the company’s source code and product development maps.

We were retained by a large hospital chain located in the Mountain States to assist them in the evaluation of a software license agreement and the related implementation services agreement.

We were retained by the division of a global software company to develop and teach a course covering software development and project management.

We were retained to participate in the design and development of a course for the systems integration division of a global IT company. The course topics included financial concepts and other metrics to track the progress and performance of IT projects. We later worked with staff at the company to convert the live course for distance learning. Our work included software design and testing, and we provided the instructor for several of the initial pilots of the course.

We were retained by an international project management performance improvement company to develop curriculum for customized courses related to risk management, project management, and other topics.

We were retained to develop and teach a course relating to software marketing to senior IT management for the software division of a global IT company.
